Tourism Regulations
Bhutan has very limited tourists visiting every year in the country to preserved the traditional culture of Bhutan. The Bhutanese are highly religious people and it is important to show respect and understanding for local customs and culture while visiting religious places The tourism industry in Bhutan is based on the principle of sustainability, meaning that it should be environmentally, socially, culturally and ecologically friendly, and also must be economically viable. Tourism Council of Bhutan carefully controls and regulates the number of tourists visiting Bhutan is always kept to a manageable level.
Tours Reservation · All tours must be booked through a recognized Bhutanese Tour. · For all Cultural Tours, booking arrangements must be completed 5 weeks in advance. The spring and autumn festivals are our peak times for tourism, and without early reservations it can be difficult to confirm flights and hotels. · For Trekking groups, booking arrangements should be completed at least 7 weeks in advance, as this activity requires detailed forward planning.
Visa Formalities All tourist visas have to be approved prior to your arrival in Bhutan. Once your visa is approved the actual visa is issued only on your arrival in the country at Paro airport or (if by road) at Phuentsoling. We will apply for your visas and comply with all formalities once your tour arrangements is confirmed. We need the following details in order to start applying for visas.
